Hello Tiger Splash families! It’s time to start looking ahead to the next summer season. Board elections for the 2023-2024 season are right around the corner. Here is a little info about each of our nominees, so that you are prepared to cast your ballot. The ballot will be sent via google form and voting will be open from July 15 – July 25. You will be voting in 4 of these nominees.

Incumbent Board Members (up for re-election)

James Landrum
James is the current President of Tiger Splash. He has been an active board member for 2 years and has been involved with Tiger Splash for the past 5 years. James and his wife Amy have 2 daughters, Lexi and Lydia. Their family has thoroughly enjoyed being a part of Tiger Splash and look forward to many more exciting swim meets in the coming summers.

Kara Jones
Kara is the current Treasurer of Tiger Splash Swim Team. She has been a resident of Dripping Springs since 2012 and involved with Tiger Splash since 2013. She brings 25 years of experience in Business, Finance, and Accounting to the board and is the proud mother of Brylie and Chasyn. Both Brylie and Chasyn have been Tiger Splash swimmers and JAVs.

James Stansell
James is a current Director at Large on the Tiger Splash board. He is a 7 year resident of Dripping Springs. James and his wife Erin have had the pleasure of watching their 2 daughters develop as swimmers with Tiger Splash. James has been a board member for the past 2 years and keeps his daughters involved in several other community activities. When not running the girls around town, James is busy with his business, “The Traveling Humidor”, or working at Smokey’s cigar lounge, or he can be found at the gym doing Muay Thai and Crossfit.

New Applicants to the Board

Monika Brooks
Monika is a Texan transplant from Iceland and mom to twin girls, Emily and Makayla (7), who joined Tiger Splash this year after she and her husband, Alex, moved down from Steiner Ranch to the Dripping Springs area at the end of last summer. Monika and her family have lived in the Austin area since 2013 and have loved the Central Texas area from day one. The family loves to travel, be outdoors, take RV trips, swim (of course), and be amongst good and genuine people. Monika and the family have fallen in love with the Tiger Splash family and look forward to supporting it in any capacity.

Sara Hovatter
Sara’s family has been a part of Tiger Splash for the last 10 seasons and has 3 children (Austin, Charlie, & Maddie) who have all participated in Tiger Splash over the years. Currently she has a college bound freshman and 2 DSHS swimmers - a rising junior, and an incoming freshman. Sara was a board member for 4 seasons a few years ago, where she served as treasurer and director at large. She loves being a part of the Tiger Splash family and loves the culture of this team! She appreciates the desire for the kids to have fun while also staying competitive. Sara would love to serve another term on the Tiger Splash board!

Jenny Scholl-Hammond
Jenny is thrilled for the opportunity to continue to serve our Tiger Splash families. She has two daughters on the team. Tiger Splash, and before it’s inception, the Highpointe Hammerheads, have been a mainstay in her family’s summers since 2008. Jenny served on the inaugural Tiger Splash board as secretary and followed that as the team’s second board president. Jenny feels that serving as a volunteer throughout the seasons has always been her greatest impact. These days you can find her behind a computer in the timing tent, helping with meet operations. In addition to her experience with the team, she brings 20 years experience as a swim instructor and summer lifeguard.
